I have been a lifelong resident of Hardin County, having grown up in Pickwick. I am a 2004 graduate of Hardin County High School. I then attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management.
After graduation, I worked for approximately 4 years as a Tennessee State Park Ranger. In 2012, I left employment with the state to accept a position with the Hardin County Sheriff Department, under Sheriff Davidson. Also in 2012, I married Emma Campbell, daughter of Tom and Debbie Campbell, and moved to the Dogtown community in Swift. In 2013-2014, I retuned to college and earned a Master of Science in Criminal Justice degree from Bethel University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA while also working full time. I worked until 2016 for the Hardin County Sheriff Department, when I accepted a position with the city of Savannah Police Department. Currently, I serve as the Chief of Police at SPD, a position I have held for more than 7 years.
In addition to my work life, I am a licensed and ordained minister and serve as the associate pastor of Living Waters Foursquare Church in Swift. I have served in that role since 2015. I am an avid hunter, and enjoy spending time outdoors. My wife and I have 2 children, Lyla and Charlie, and we enjoy camping in our RV and taking walks with our two dogs, Jasper and Patch.
